My last post of the year and probably the last post on this blog. Switching locations cos of one too many entires painfully deleted after i painstakenly typed it out. Diaryland really ought to get an autosave function like blogspot.

So the end of 2009 draws near and it's time to look at how many of '09 resolution has been accomplished...

THINGS I WANTED TO
ACCOMPLISH IN 2009:

Learn how to say no
Got pointers for it but not really that successful still. Am i resigned to another year of compliance? haha. probably not the most apt term to use but that's what happens when you're reading assurance frameworks for class. I really should do something about it cos this lack of saying no has gotten me into quite a bit of trouble this past year. Misunderstandings caused by my inability to express my actual feelings about the situation. sigh...

Go on my exchange
Spent the latter half of the year abroad. something i'll never regret doing although if there were things i could change things would be done slightly differently, like going one semester before, choosing a different university so that i can transfer my modules better and not spent the last semester choinging 6.5 modules. But then again, that would mean i wouldn't have learnt what i've learnt, met the people i met, and done the things i did. I guess that in the end, I'm contented...

Decide what I want to do with my life
Not really too successful in this area either. still so much hestitations, so many dreams and this genereal feeling of helplessness when facing them all. well.. i've always worked better under pressure so perhaps now that deadlines are drawing closer, and when push came to shove, something will happen. i really do suck at this making decisions thing eh...

Go Diving again
Didn't have the opportunity to go unfortunately.

Go climbing at new places. meet new climbers.
Accomplished! haha. macau in june, france in july, heerlen/belgium from aug to nov. so many new faces, new walls, new climates.

Do a multi-pitch
Did one with maarten in freyr =)

Have my first encounter with snow… and skiing too
17th dec 2009, first snow in maastricht. 18th dec to 26th dec, ski trip with the singaporeans. awesome it is. you really never experienced snow till you actually have seen and felt it. had my first snowball fight. made my first snow man. got delayed and inconvienced by snow. fell face first in snow.

Get my Instructor Cert
finally in march we did it =)

Redpoint 8 7a routes
Not too successful in this. only managed one unfortunately but more from the lack of acutally trying. was working on a 7b+ and a 7c in heerlen but only got to about the 10th move. haha. oh wells.

Pull up my GPA (somehow)
well... at least it's not dropping?

Get my bicycle back in proper working conditions
it still works =X although i'll miss my two bikes in the netherlands which were both in so much better condition than my sg one.

Learn how to take a bit more decent photos
still trying. but i do get so lazy around people with bigger cameras

Try not to sprain my ankle or wrist or hit my head or anything and have an injury free year
ultimate failure in this area. ended off the year with a sprained knee on top of the countless number of times i sprained my ankle.

Stay Sane and not let anymore personalities develop
i think i succeeded. there's still only, mellie, melho and mel around.

Be a Happy Climber
I'm still happy. I think i'm still a climber even if i haven't climbed in the last 2 months.

and so... here's to the end of another eventful year. *cheers*
